Consuelo de Aerenlund was born in Guatemala in 1923, grew up in the U.S.A. and has lived in Mexico City since 1946. She has worked as a Spanish/English translator, a marketing research project director and in 1953, together with her husband Max, founded Konditori, a well-known restaurant chain. Now widowed, she has four daughters and seven grandchildren. She started to write seriously at the age of 65 and has had several poems published in literary journals in the U.S.A.
